The Mean Chef

Once there was a chef, who was mean to his cooks. He was mean to the people who came in to eat. He charged too much for meals. Many people were not able to afford the cheapest bean dish. When his metal oven broke, he did not have it fixed. So everything baked in it burned. The only light was from candles, and the whole place was a mess.

5 – GADGETS

CD1 Track 06

The pinhole camera is a very simple device. It consists of a cylinder with a radius of approximately 4 cm and a height of 12 cm. There is a small hole 1 mm in diameter positioned halfway up the wall of the cylinder. A sheet of photographic paper 18 cm in width curves round the inside of the cylinder leaving a gap of about 1 cm just behind the pinhole. The camera is very simple to use, but it takes a long time to produce a picture. If you fix the camera outside and expose it to the light, after a few minutes, you will find that an image has appeared on the photographic paper.

Scorpions – Maybe-I-Maybe-You

Maybe I, maybe you
Can make a change to the world
We’re reaching out for a soul
That’s kind of lost in the dark
Maybe I, maybe you
Can find the key to the stars
To catch the spirit of hope
To save one hopeless heart

2- A healthy body

CD1 Track 08

It’s by far my favourite sport to watch. I love the excitement that builds up as the match progresses, with the fans cheering and chanting. There’s always an amazing atmosphere.

My team usually loses, it has to be said, although last week they drew. When they play away I always try to go and support them. And I’ve got the latest kit, but they’re getting more and more expensive so I may have to stop buying them. I think the clubs take advantage of fans’ loyalty to push up the prices.
